Since James and I are staying in San Diego for the time being, we have to now find a new apartment. We don't move out until the end of June, so we still have some time to look. However, we are trying to see all of our options before choosing. We seriously look at 1 apartment almost everyday! It gets soooo exhausting! And I still can't believe how expensive it is to live in San Diego. It is much too rediculous.
Anyway, anyone have ANY tips for apartment hunting? Any good tips on dealing with private owners of condos and such verses companies that own apartment buildings? Anyone have a funny story they can share about looking for a new home? Seriously, I need a pick me up.

This is super random, but my grandpa owns like five condos in Carlsbad. They are two bedrooms and they are waterfront on some lagoon. They are gorgeous and may be worth a looksie. I'm not sure how much they cost, but I think it's pretty standard for the area. Email me if you want his contact info for a tour!
ReplyDeleteI totally feel your pain girl. Brandon and I made the mistake of using craigslist when we started looking for apartments/condos. We found this "perfect" one that just had everything we would want and the price was right...only to find out it was a total scam and the person behind the scam was called the "nigerian nightmare." I'm a little weary of craigslist after that :)But, hang in there, the absolute best place for your beautiful family is already set aside for you and God's peace and grace is filling each room already. You will know the right one when you see it.
ReplyDeleteI would say to figure out what your price range is, and only look at apartments in there! Otherwise you might be tempted by something, and then feel pressured to spend more than you wanted to! Also, if there's something that's a bit more than you think it's worth- say so! Or ask if there's any 'deals' like maybe they'll give you $100 off if you sign a lease agreement or something. I own a condo here, and give the family a better price because they sign a year agreement at a time :) Happy hunting! I know you'll find somewhere awesome- and remember anywhere can be 'home' as long as you're together! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, and Deanna fixed my button for me :) What a doll she is!
ReplyDeleteahhh I am sorry! Especially looking in San Diego, I can imagine how expensive that is!! We live in Utah so its pretty reasonable, but its hard to find the right place. I hope it all works out hun!
ReplyDeleteI have no advice just wanted to let you know I feel your pain! DC is so frick frackin expensive and I just want to move!!!! Good luck my dear!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the advice ladies. We actually found a place! It is a cute little condo that is near work and my family! Yay! And it's got it's own washer and dryer. I haven't had that since I moved out of my mom's home 5 years ago! No more searching. :)
