So I was super stoked for Chloe's first Halloween. We had decided pretty early that we were all going to be clowns. I made a really cute costume with a huge adorable tutu and clown hat and everything. When Chloe tried it on last week, she hated it! She screamed and pulled at it and was miserable. I was so sad! We made a mad scramble to try to figure out what we could be and came up with Alice, the White Rabbit and the Mad Hatter... and I think it worked out splendidly! The costumes consisted of everything we already owned, minus the bunny ears that I got at Walmart for $5.
I painted my face like a bunny (sort of) and wore all the time piece necklaces I had, and glass bunny charm necklace.
Chloe loved her outfit because it wasn't too poofy and it didn't have anything that she had to wear on her head, other than the bow that she had no idea was there.
I wish we were able to get some good family photos of us together, but these are the only ones on our camera.... (as you can see, Chloe kicked off one of her shoes as soon as we got out of the house)
We went down to our old church's Trunk or Treat. People park in the parking lot and decorate their trunks in Christian/ fall type themes. Then all the trunks pass out candy, so instead of going door to door, we go car to car. They even had air jumps and carnival games and rides. It is a pretty cute event.
We met up with a bunch of friends and family there and of course, tons of pictures were taken.

Apparently, Chloe already has a thing for candy (don't worry, she didn't actually eat anything) |

We had a pretty fun time and Chloe really seemed to enjoy it. She passed out as soon as we got into the car.
I hope all of you had a great Halloween! Can't wait to read your blogs and see tons of pictures!!!!
awe, michelle! the clown thing would have been cute but i think what you guys came up with is a ton more fun :D i can't believe how great the three of you look with just things you already owned! if i'm being honest, this would have to be my favorite that i've ever seen of the alice and wonderland theme!
ReplyDeletei'm loving these halloween posts. it was our baby girl's first halloween this year too and i can say that having kids brings back all the halloween fun, am i right?
you made all that from things you already own? I am thoroughly impressed - both with your creativity and your wardrobe! This was my baby boy's first Halloween too, and I'm a little sad we didn't dress him but alas, we just didn't have any place to take him. Maybe next year.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you guys had a great time! Love the costumes! So creative!!!
ReplyDeletecute cute cute CUTE!!!! Your family is so adorable. And my how Chloe is growing up so fast! She's just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou guys look great!!
ReplyDeleteawe she looked adorable! But you all looked awesome and that was a great idea. I hate spending a lot of money on Halloween costumes. We did sort of the same thing tried to use what we had or could re-use.
ReplyDeleteyou guys look awesome! at least you got pictures of chloe looking at the camera. all our pictures of owsley have his head turned the other way!
ReplyDeleteoh, and you asked about peppy's beard. he actually didn't grow it to be a lumberjack. he used to have a beard WAAAAAY longer than it is now, but every once in a while he'll spontaneously cut it off because he says it itches.
There is too much cuteness in this post! What an awesome idea. Chloe is adorable of course. :)
ReplyDeleteWe went as a lumberjack couple and Benaiah was our pet deer. Our church did the trunk or treat event too! We decorated my trunk as a little camping scene. It was fun! :)
I love the costumes! Last minute costumes are usually the best
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job. I would not have expected any thing less. You are always so creative. I wish I could have been there for her first halloween. Love you all. MOM
