Day 17 - a picture of something that has made a huge impact on your life recently

 I would have to say that our decision to stay in San Diego has definitely made one of the biggest impacts on my life other than becoming a christian, wife and mom. Not to mention, it is the most recent impact. James and I had our hearts set on making Portland, Oregon our new home. We have been dreaming about this for the past 4 years and to have the Lord tell us not to leave now, even though it seemed everything was coming together beautifully for the move. It was challenging to accept the news at first, but we are happy with the decision. It seemed our dreams had come to a halt. However, I feel God is making a new dream for us, a better hope and a better life. I have been learning how to live in His timing, not mine.

30 day post {Day 16}

 Day 16 : a picture of someone who inspires you.

I had to think about this one for a while. I really get inspired by so many things. Pictures, places, words and people. I guess it all depends on what it is that I am looking into inspiration for. There are the surface level things - clothing, home decor, cooking. These I find through pictures (mainly on other blogs).  Then there are the deeper levels - who do I look to for inspiration on how to be a better parent, friend, wife and person in general. It's hard to pick pick one specific person (besides the obvious, JESUS) who inspires me the most. I know it might sound cliche, but I seriously am inspired by my kind, loving, generous HUSBAND, JAMES.

He is calm when I am raging, he is kind when I am harsh, he is patient when I get frustrated easily. And best yet, he strives to be like Jesus. I am lucky to have such an inspiring person in my life to look up to and I am even more lucky that I get to be his wife. He makes me want to be a better mom, a better wife, and a better person.

Spiffy up the blog?

I am wanting to make some changes around this little blog of mine. I will be updating photos and such with the new family ones we are taking next week (can't wait!) and am thinking of re-doing my whole blog.
Anyone have any suggestions? I know how to do some of it myself, but to be honest I really don't have all that much time right now.  Anyone have any links that I can look up to help me do this more efficiently? Anyone suggest someone who makes blogs/themes/banners/buttons?

30 day post {Day 15}

Day 15 - a picture of something you want to do before you die. I love to travel and have a life long dream of traveling through Europe. I always wanted to get some waitress job at a local cafe for a month or two, exploring the city and culture and then move on to the next place and continue to experience and explore new things. I would stay hostels and befriend the locals. I would soak up all the culture and be immersed in a new kind of traveling vagabond life.  Now that I am a family gal, all that will have to wait. And I am sure that one day when we are older and Chloe has moved off to college I can convince my hubby to let my dream come true, with him tagging along of course.

Homemade Goodness {Vol 1}

This is the first installment of Homemade Goodness. From time to time, I will be featuring my readers Etsy shops on here or any Etsy shops that strike my fancy and are willing to be featured.

 It's a great way to spread the love, share the shop and get the word out about your little slice of Etsy. 

                                      

The first Etsy Shop is from Vanessa over at Grow Old With Me. I hope you enjoy Vanessa's little shop where she makes "cute handmade accessories for your little sugarplumb." Go check out her shop buy a headband or two and send her a message letting her know how cute these hair accessories are!

Describe what type of items you sell in your shop: I sell hair accessories for little girls. I make bow headbands/ clips, flower headbands, rosette headbands/ clips etc. Anything I think I'd like to have my little girl wear, I'll sell in my shop! 

Why you started the shop: I really enjoy making hair accessories for my daughter, so I thought it would be fun to make them for other little girls to wear as well. I'm a stay at home mama, so making a little extra money on the side doing something I love is great!

How old is your shop? I just opened my shop recently, in March.

Price range of shop items: $3-$5 (in Michelle's words - so affordable that I am seriously contemplating buying one for every single baby girl I know!)


What makes your shop special? I can do customized headbands! Just let me know what type/color you're looking for and I'd be happy to try and make you something!
