10 more facts

This is going to take me a while to think of 100 facts about me, so these will be slow coming.I am really hoping I don't have any repeats.

51. I don't like to drink water. I could go days without drinking water. I think it just taste funny. I know water taste different from wherever its from, but I haven't really had any great tasting water that has stood out to me. It is bad now because I really need to get to drinking more water for the pregnancy.

52. I want to skydive. Even though I am deathly afraid of heights, I want to skydive so badly! I think it would be fun and exhilarating. That is definitely on my bucket list.

53. I love Birds, Owls especially. I have an owl tattoo and I have tons of them in our home. And I have tons of owl necklaces too. I don't know why I love them, I just do. Which is special because my grandmother loves them too. It's so sweet because people will randomly see something owl and get it for me because it reminds them of me.

54. I would love to be a cosmetologist. I would like to know how to do hair and make up on myself and to do on my family and friends. I think I would love the job. I would totally go for that as my career  if only I didn't have to work nights or weekends (which is highly unlikely).

55. I love cream cheese. I could eat it on anything. Seriously. The more the better. Oh and James' family makes a  fruit dip that is made of cream cheese and marshmallow cream is the best EVER.

56. My favorite season is Fall. Even though San Diego really doesn't have a fall here, I love what fall is supposed to be. The red, orange and yellow leaves. The cold brisk air. The warmer seasonal drinks. The warmer clothes and layers to wear. I can't wait to live in a place that actually has a fall.

57. I was the token white girl for many years with my friends. I grew up and went to school with mostly people of Mexican, Philippino and African American decent and Caucasian was a minority. My best friends were always Mexican and I was very immersed in there culture.  That could be why I love Mexican food, was in Ballet Folklorico and took Spanish for so many years. I even had a teacher who would call me "guerra"  (pronounced Wedda, meaning white girl or blonde white girl) as my name. When I would go to other parts of San Diego where Caucasian was the majority, I felt so weird and it took me a long time to get use to it.

58. I am thinking about being a CPA. I really love accounting and number pushing and finances. I even like doing our taxes. I think this would be a great fit for me... if only I could find the time and motivate myself to go back to school again.

59. I come from a small family. It was my sisters and Mom most of my life. I grew up with knowing 1 aunt, her 2 daughters, 1 uncle and my grandma. They all lived in Arizona and we didn't see them very much, So our family felt pretty small. Now that I have a relationship with my dad I have added on to that a little more, but we are still a relatively small family. Now James family, that is another story. His family is HUGE.

60. I love to DIY everything. (see headboard below) James and I like to try re purposing furniture, home decor etc... I see something I like in a store and then tell myself "I can make that". I have the intentions to make it, but then I never get around to it.

10 fun facts

So continuing on with this 10 fun random facts thing...

41. My family owned a horse when I was younger, like 5 years old younger. I have some vivid memories of him, especially one where he kicked me really hard because I accidentally scared him from behind. We had to give him up because of the cost of board and upkeep, but I wish we could have had him while I was a little older. It would have been awesome to learn how to ride a horse like my mom (she was in barrel racing).

42. I am a dog kinda person. Not just any dog though... the big loveable ones like Labradors. I love the ones that like the snuggle and play with you all the time. And they are big enough for me to feel protected by them (no offense peanut).

43. I used to be a dancer. I was in jazz dance, ballet, ballet folklorico and more. I took most of these classes through the local community center or through school. Even in high school (up until I was a senior) I was on our dance squad. I LOVED it. I would come home every day and stay in my room and would stretch and practice dancing for hours. It was fun and a great workout.

44. I love figure ice skating. It is just so amazing how people can be so graceful on something so slippery. I love the fast past twirls and the beautiful costumes and the fun music. It's dancing on ice and I wish I could have learned how to do that when I was younger... Although there really isn't that many ice skating rinks in San Diego to learn at.

45. My Birthday is TODAY.  That is about as factual as I can get. And as much as I love my birthday, (just like anyone does, I am sure) it is not so fun being only 5 days before Christmas. When I was younger no one would come to my parties because they would all be out of town for Christmas or we would be out of town for Christmas. People always tend to forget my birthday too because they are so excited to be so close to Christmas. I remember for my 21st birthday I went to Applebees by myself and sat at the bar by myself to order my first legal margarita because all my friends had Christmas shopping they still had to do and they sort of forgot about it. Although, we did celebrate it with a big night out after Christmas.

46. I love the band QUEEN. Seriously, most creative band EVER. Every time I hear one of there songs I get a huge smile on my face and just want to dance in the most ridiculous way ever. I would have LOVED to see them live. I even got Chloe the Queen Rockabilly baby cd because I wanted her to love them too. So many of there songs can be an anthem for my life and would make a pretty awesome life soundtrack.

47. I prefer Coke over Pepsi. Pepsi is so sweet and I can feel the sugar on my teeth every time I drink it. Although I don't love coke either because it is much to acidic for me. I am a Dr Pepper (or more rather Mr Pibb) kinda girl. And don't even get me started on Root Beer. Barqs Hast Bite is the best, hands down. And yes, I always call it Barqs Has Bite even when ordering it, it's a habit.

48. I can't sit still and listen to a lecture, I just fall asleep. EVERY TIME. I was notorious for falling asleep in high school and in college. I even was asked multiple times by teachers and counselors in high school if I had narcolepsy or a sleeping disorder. I don't, its just that I can't sit still and not do anything, I am much to add for that. And no matter how hard I try, I can't stay awake. I start to see double and then BAM. Next thing you know, I fell asleep and hit my head on the chalk board behind me or my head fell out of my hand and my face slams on the desk. Both of those things happened to me on a regular basis. This hasn't been a problem since I don't attend school anymore, however, I did fall asleep recently in a very long work meeting where we were all just sitting around listening to our boss for a couple hours. He just laughed it off though and attributed it to  us having a baby that wakes up in the middle of the night. whew.

49. I am pretty much an open book. However, I am starting to learn that not everything needs to be shared. I mean, I don't share everything, but I will answer honestly if you ask me something. And I really have no problem talking about my past experiences, good or bad. I open up a lot, but I realized being so vulnerable has its downsides too.

50. Speaking of 50.... For the longest time I thought there was 51 states. I mean, since I was a little girl up until middle of college. How can I be so dumb, I have no idea. Never really talked about the states that much to really notice I was wrong. I know now there are only 50, but boy was I ever so sure for the longest time it was 51.

A little late... but here they are

This week has been crazy busy! Family has been in town for the Holidays, planning for Thanksgiving and getting ready for Chloe's birthday, it's all just so hectic right now. Hectic, but way fun! Anyway, here are my next 10 facts about me. (I really don't know if I can make it all the way to 100 facts) linking up with Deanna from Delirious Rhapsody and her Sunday Confessionals.

31. I am terrified of the dark. I still sleep with a nightlight and have a gripping fear of being in the dark somewhere. I hate that I can't see and then my imagination gets the best of me. Every little noise sounds so much worse than it really is when you are lying there in pitch dark.

32. I LOVE cheese. Seriously. It is in almost every single meal that I eat. I can be considered a cheeseaterian, if there was such a thing. James said he knew I truly loved him when I told him "I love you more than cheese."

33. I am all about Black Friday shopping. I am totally one of those that gets up out of bed 3 hours earlier than the store opens to go wait in line, with hot cocoa in hand. I strategically plan out what stores I am going to first and all the items I need and want. I typically finish my Christmas shopping on Black Friday.

34. I cry every time I get blood drawn. I mean every single time.Which happened to be a lot during my last pregnancy because I was part of an asthma study. I would get my blood drawn about once a month. That could be the reason I don't donate blood. Well that and the fact that I don't have a year between tattoos, which is a rule when giving blood. And I always hear the same thing from the nurses, "why are you crying, you have so many tattoos?" It's way different my friends.

35. I love to read. I just don't have the time anymore. The only 2 books I have read in a while is The Christian Atheist, which I am reading for our small group and the Bible. I wish I could find time to read more. We have bookshelves full of books just wanted to be read.

36. My first official job was a "non security" security guard. I wasn't old enough to get my guard card to be an official security guard. I only worked 1 job, at a raiders vs chargers football game. It was crazy and my section went nuts and got into a fight and no one listened to little 17 year old me. (go figure) It was crazy and I decided that the job was not for me.

37. I am not big on eating meat. It has nothing to do with animal rights or anything. Meat just sort of grosses me out.  I don't like the taste of meat very much and the smell is too overpowering to me. Although, hot dogs are an exception to this rule.

38. I hate my ears. I never wear my hair up because I have a complex about my big ears. I was teased when I was younger so much that now I am self conscious of them, even though James says he loves them, it still bothers me too much.

39. I wanted to join the Peace Corps. I even told James when we first started dating that he can't get to attached to me because I was joining the peace corps and would have to leave him. I still would love to join the Peace Corps, I just have to wait until our kids are grown up and move away.

40. I have arachnophobia.  terribly scared. It makes me cry when I see one and if there is one in our room and James didn't kill it, I won't sleep in the room until we find it and it is dead. And I want proof of it being squished too.

10 More Truths

I will be partaking in the 100 truths/ Sunday Confessional thing that Deanna from Delirious Rhapsody has going on. I will be sharing 10 truths a week (hopefully I can fulfill all 100). I would love for you to participate too so that I can get to know you a little more!
21. I always say my fave color is Teal, but that's not true. I don't know why I don't want to admit it. It has been teal for as long as I can remember. In reality, I am in love with the colors Mustard Yellow and Pea Green and that love is more than my love for Teal. Maybe it has something to do with food being in the names? haha, I don't know. I still really like teal, but I feel like some days I like it way more than other days.

22. Colors are super important to me. (as if you couldn't tell from the fact above) I don't know about you, but certain colors can take affect on my mood. And I have this weird thing where I almost always associate people with a color. It takes me a long time to decide on a color pallet for things such as home decorating or even what color scheme I am going to use for a party. It took me forever to pick the colors for my blog.

23. I am a control freak. I am working on it though. I love to be in charge and like to know what is going on. I always took lead in school/college projects and always have been good at delegating. It doesn't help that James is more passive and I am more aggressive so it easily sneaks up on me in our relationship. God is teaching me a lot about giving it up to Him and letting him have control in my life. He is also teaching me to allow others to take control and trust that they will do just as good as job as me. When I sit back and relax and let someone else handle it, I realize how fun it is on the "other" side of things.

24. I don't like to swim in dark water, or where I can't touch the bottom. In a swimming pool or otherwise. I just can't do it. I know how to swim, so that is not a problem. I just don't like dark water because you never know what is around you. In a black bottom pool it isn't so bad, but it still makes me feel uncomfortable. I also hate it when I can't touch the bottom. I am not very good at treading water so I want to be able to know that if I get tired or need to stop swimming that I will be okay and not drown. I used to get panic attacks if I couldn't touch the bottom.

25. I have a love hate relationship with the beach. Which is funny because everyone in San Diego is supposed to LOVE the beach. James and I couldn't care less that the ocean is so close. Yes, it's nice to go visit once in a while and to take out of town family to the beach, but I just don't see what all the fuss is about. Maybe it's because I only have been to overcrowded beaches and I can get over that pretty quickly. Plus you get super sandy and it gets all over you, down your shirt, in your hair and mouth. yuck. then you have to vacuum out your car every time you go and it seems to always be really cold when we go. I do like to see sunsets at the beach though, that is still romantic. I also like the smell of the ocean and the crashing of the waves.... Like I said, it's a love and hate relationship.

26.  I am really into music. Like really really. If James didn't love the same music as me, I don't think we would be married right now. Before I got pregnant with Chloe, I would go to shows all time time and I love to see live music. I am still really into music today, and we are even naming our unborn child after our favorite band, Emery.
27. I gave myself the nickname Chloe in 9th grade. I just one day decided there were too many Michelle's in my classes and I wanted to go by another name. My mom told me the nickname Shelly was a horrible name (could be she had a pretty rotten step sister named Shelly) so I couldn't go with that. There was this show on TV called Smallville that I watched and a lot of my friends told me that I reminded them of Chloe on there, so I chose that name. (In case you watched the show and know who I am talking about, I do have her personality, and I did have short blonde hair back then). The name stuck and I used it quite frequently even in College. When I would go to parties and meet random people I always introduced myself as Chloe. And so, we named Chloe after me.

28. I love to go camping. LOVE LOVE LOVE. My family used to go all the time when we were younger. I love tent camping. I don't mind RV camping, but tent camping is my fave. It really gets you out there connected with nature. I love to wake up to birds chirping and playing cards and nature walks all day. I can't wait for my little ones to be around 4 and up and we will take them camping all the time.

29. I am a night owl. I can stay up super late (well, not now that I am preggo, but that doesn't count). I wish stores stayed open late (thank goodness for 24 hour stores). I love to shop and get things done at night, that is when I am most productive. I don't do mornings very well. James and I sleep in until our alarm goes off for about the 10th time. We really try to push the limit on when we wake up. that is why we are always running late.

30. I never thought I would live to be this old. When I was younger I always had dreams that I was going to die young in a car crash before I ever hit my twenties. I don't know why I had this dream, I don't feel like I had any underlying issues with something that would make me feel that way, but who knows... I am happily living and I hope to have many many many years ahead of me. If it is my time to go, I am not scared to go either for I know I will be with my Father in Heaven.

More truths about myself...

I will be partaking in the 100 truths/ Sunday Confessional thing that Deanna from Delirious Rhapsody has going on. I would love for you to participate too so that I can get to know you a little more!

100 Truths - I will give 10 random truths/facts about myself each week.

11. I have never broken a bone in my life. I am as clumsy as they come, I wake up with new bruises on a daily basis. However, I somehow had made it through life so far with not a single broken bone. Luck is all I can attribute this too...

12. I am a horrible cook. I would love to know how to cook, but I just really don't have the time nor energy to learn something like that right now.  I burn grilled cheese sandwiches and pancakes, for goodness sakes. I can make some good hamburger helper though.... I do eventually want to take cooking classes, it looks like it would be a ton of fun. And I would love to experiment with different foods and maybe open up my pallet more. I can say this, even though I am bad at cooking, I did win 2nd place for a mashed potatoes contest at work and 3rd place for a best dessert contest at work, that's gotta count for something!

13. I am the oldest in my family out of my generation. I am the oldest of my siblings and all of my cousins. I think that is why I am such a "mother hen", that and the fact that I would have to play "mom" while my mom was on west pack with the Navy when I was younger too.

14. I am the first and only (so far) in my entire family to get a degree from college. You think I could have gotten a scholarship or something for that. It was a pretty big feat for me. My younger sister is in college now and will hopefully get her degree soon. The sad thing is, I didn't end up "walking" and going to the graduation ceremony because I was on a celebratory flight to Hawaii instead. I do regret not going to the ceremony.

15. I had a black tooth when I was younger. There are family pictures and everything to prove it. I slipped and fell in the bathtub when i was little and hit my mouth pretty hard. The impact killed all the nerve endings in that tooth, causing it to "die" and turn black. It was my front right tooth too, so no hiding that.

16. I really really dislike cats. Sure kittens are cute and cuddly, until they attack you out of nowhere with there razor sharp claws and lick you with there sandpaper tongue. They even hurt you by "kneading" you when they are happy. What kind of sadistic animal is this? I think I really dislike them because we had a cat who was the spawn of the devil, really. If I even blinked, the cat would come out of its hidden spot and try to attack my face.

17. My favorite book of all time is Little Women. I read it when I was in 5th grade and had read it often throughout growing up. It still makes me cry when Beth dies, every time. I even bought a fancy copy with a ribbon place mark, gold rimmed pages and everything.

18. I played softball for 9 years when I was younger. I was all about softball and even played on the special winter leagues. I stopped because of family problems at home, but I wonder how far I could have gotten with it. I really did love playing.

19. I get terribly sea/motion sickness. That probably added to my horrible morning sickness when I was pregnant with Chloe. I get headaches and throw up and the works. We purposefully avoid the winding roads and if we have to take them, I take crackers and water and try to sleep the whole way. Dramamine definitely helps.

20. I love Mexican food. I mean love it. I love it so much I would marry it.  We eat it at least twice a week in my house. I am always down to go to a taco shop. It helps we live right by the border and have amazing Mexican food. My favorites are enchiladas, tamales and California burritos.

Will you all leave a comment with one random fact about you???

Hello Newbies and Oldies!

Since beauty week, I have about 20 new readers to my blog. I would like to officially say, WELCOME TO SHE SAID! Hope you have fun reading and find my little ol' life interesting. I would LOVE to learn more about you. I have been popping in on peoples blogs and I must say, there are so many wonderful reads out there I wish I could keep up with ALL of them! You all make me laugh, think, and enjoy my 10 minute break away from work each day. Thank you for following and I can't wait to read more about you!

With that said, I think I might have to re-introduce myself. I will be partaking in the 100 truths/ Sunday Confessional thing that Deanna from Delirious Rhapsody has going on. I would love for you to participate too so that I can get to know you a little more!

100 Truths - I will give 10 random truths/facts about myself each week.

1. I am a natural blonde. I always start with this when "revealing" unknown truths about myself. It's funny because many don't believe me because I haven't used to say I would never go back blonde, although I recently had a dream that I was blonde again and now it has me wondering.....

2. I didn't become a Christian until I was 21. James invited me to church one day and it didn't take long for me to jump right in. Now, I don't know how I got through my adolescence without God. I was never closed to the idea of God, just never really understood who He was. I am so glad Chloe will get a chance to know her Savior is with her through these important life lessons and years that she has coming up.

3. I hate Facebook. (Gasp!) I know, I have a Facebook page so I can't hate it that much, but I feel as though I do. The only reason I have it is to keep our family updated with Chloe. I rarely post pictures and I don't really comment on anyone's pages (unless it's there birthday!) and I hardly ever update my "status". I just feel like real life personal connection is just so much more important and I think more and more people are loosing touch with that these days.

4. I have a bachelors degree in Liberal Studies. As in Elementary School Teacher. However, I am not nor will ever be a teacher. Why do I have that degree then? My last semester of College I realized I didn't want to be a teacher. Teachers are amazing and give up so much of their life to the students and the classroom, and I am selfish and didn't want to give that up. I want my family to be number one and my "career" to stay at work. I don't want to have to think about work when I clock out each night. Fortunately, I am blessed with an amazing job that allows that for me. Unfortunately, I didn't need to go to college for my job and now we are in major debt due to college tuition fees.

5. I want to be a SAHM so badly. I mean the works, I want to know how to be a amazing cook, an expert sewer (I want to hand make ALL of my kids clothing, bedding, home decor, etc...). I want to have my house clean and I want to wear an apron, pearls and heels while doing so! I know, so 1950's of me... I want to home school my kids until 6th grade. I know being a stay at home mom is so much more than that, but I want it all. I would give anything to stay at home with my kids and be the one they learn from and never miss any of their milestones. I would give anything except for us to end up homeless, which is why I still work.

6. I have 2 "broken" pinkies.
To say they are broken is not quite right, they are more "deformed" than anything. They point inwards rather sharply and look like they have been broken.  My dad tried getting them "fixed" once while my mom was away on West Pak for the Navy. The Dr's told me they would have to literally break them back into the proper placement. I screamed and screamed until my dad caved in.
I was born like that and believe it or not, crooked fingers is a genetic thing... I check Chloe's pinkies constantly. Luckily, they look straight for now...

7. I took Spanish Classes for a total of 6 years and still can't speak if fluently. How? lack of practice. Have you heard that expression" If you don't use it, you lose it?" Yeah, it's right. I used ot be able to speak to someone and totally understand what they are saying to me, but when you aren't surrounded with the language, you start to forget it over the years... At least I do.

8. For someone who went to college to be a teacher, I have horrible grammar.  Seriously, just read my blog, mistakes left and right. I am pretty well known for overusing the "comma". I am just too lazy to look up grammar stuff and "re-teach" myself anything.

9. When I was younger ( I mean like all throughout my teenage years), I wanted to be a single mom and adopt 2 kids by age 24. Random, but when you get to know my past, it makes it much more clear why I wanted that. I am so glad that I didn't go that route.

10. I believed in Santa until I was 13. And I would have continued to believe in him if I didn't accidentally see where my mom was hiding all the toys for Christmas that were supposed to be from Santa. I used to get in fights on the school playground over Santa being real, that is how serious I was about it. You better believe I will have Chloe convinced he is real too.

So there you have it. I wold love to hear yours! Leave a "confession" or two on the comments. And make sure to go check out Deanna's blog, she has a Sunday Confessional on her blog every week!
